As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your pieces carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With competing player checkers moving in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular tactics at specific times. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to complete your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the purpose of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to move their pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or result a bad position if he ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your board. After you have successfully assembled the prime to prevent the movement of the opponent, your opponent doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you shift your checkers and roll the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The aims of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to harm your opponent’s positions hoping to boost your chances of winning, but the Back Game plan utilizes alternate techniques to do that. The Back Game strategy is generally employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
