As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and good luck. The aim is to shift your chips safely around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opposition shifts their chips toward their home board in the opposing direction. With competing player chips shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at specific times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the goal of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their checkers, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he/she at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point 11 in your board. After you have successfully built the prime to stop the activity of your competitor, your competitor doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and toss the dice yet again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions with hope to better your odds of winning, but the Back Game tactic utilizes seperate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is often utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
