The goal of a Backgammon game is to move your pieces around the Backgammon board and get those pieces from the game board quicker than your challenger who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a round of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can move your pieces is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and the way you shift your checkers are decided on by your overall playing plans. Players use a few strategies in the differing stages of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Strategy
The goal of the Running Game plan is to entice all your pieces into your inner board and bear them off as fast as you can. This technique focuses on the speed of moving your checkers with no time spent to hit or stop your competitor’s checkers. The ideal scenario to employ this plan is when you believe you might be able to shift your own chips faster than your opponent does: when 1) you have less pieces on the board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s checkers; or 3) the opponent does not use the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Tactic
The primary aim of the blocking plan, by its name, is to block your opponent’s pieces, temporarily, while not fretting about moving your checkers rapidly. After you have established the blockage for your opponent’s movement with a few pieces, you can shift your other chips quickly from the board. The player should also have an apparent plan when to withdraw and move the pieces that you used for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when your opposition uses the same blocking technique.
