As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your pieces safely around the board to your home board while at the same time your opposing player shifts their chips toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces shifting in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific techniques at specific times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the purpose of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her chips, the Priming Game plan is to completely block any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if he at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anyplace between point two and point 11 in your game board. After you’ve successfully built the prime to block the activity of your opponent, the opponent doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, and you move your checkers and roll the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The goals of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions in hope to improve your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game strategy utilizes seperate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game technique is often utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this plan, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
