As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and good luck. The aim is to move your chips safely around the board to your inside board while at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at particular instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the goal of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to move his chips, the Priming Game strategy is to completely stop any movement of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if he/she ever tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. Once you’ve successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of your opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your pieces and toss the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game strategy are similar – to harm your competitor’s positions in hope to better your chances of winning, but the Back Game strategy uses seperate tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is frequently employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice toss.
