As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and luck. The aim is to move your chips carefully around the game board to your inside board while at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their home board in the opposite direction. With competing player checkers shifting in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific techniques at specific times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon tactics to complete your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift his pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get hit, or result a bad position if he/she at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point two and point 11 in your board. Once you’ve successfully constructed the prime to block the activity of your competitor, your opponent does not even get to toss the dice, and you shift your checkers and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions in hope to improve your odds of winning, but the Back Game technique utilizes alternate techniques to do that. The Back Game technique is frequently employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This tactic is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
