As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and pure luck. The aim is to move your pieces carefully around the board to your home board while at the same time your opponent shifts their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at specific instances. Here are the last two Backgammon techniques to round out your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the goal of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. After you have successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of the competitor, the competitor does not even get to toss the dice, and you shift your pieces and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions with hope to boost your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game plan relies on different tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is generally utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are relocated is partly the result of the dice roll.
